Not really a topic on this forum, which might suggest everyone votes Conservative and/or cares little for what's going on in this party. There is a big push now for Owen Smith (who I had never heard of until last week) to become leader.
There was a poll which showed that 22% of people who voted Labour last time, would now vote for Theresa May - far more to the right than Cameron ever was! Corbyn just doesn't do it, does he?

And that the Tories are 12 points ahead since TM became Prime Minister We need an effective Opposition to preserve our democracy, if Corbyn cannot take the hint we should have a general election to oust him, but why should TM do it - she can do what she likes as things are

Labour hasn't had worse public support since Michael Foot. I can understand people being attacted to Corbyn as a man of principal (people being fed up of corrupt politicians &c) but apart from being on the side of 'the poor' what exactly is he offering? Besides, I think the poor he's talking about would be more likely to vote Ukip! What about the home-owning, middle income Labour supporters? If he can't see that this isnt the 1980s and the country has shifted towards the right, then Labour is dead.
Split?
Cannot see Labour even being an effective opposition, let alone winning an election. Depressing.

In Opposition, we should be used to hearing extremely vocal Labour MPs bringing the Government to book with sound argument springing from passion, not the party script. And sorry girls, but the carping of Yvette Cooper/Angela Eagle etc puts me right off. Owen Smith gets an airing and falls at the first hurdle. It ain't good...not just for Labour, but for all of us.
