My house is full of little things she bought me,
My mind is full of the huge things that she taught me.
She gave me so much, as we made our way through life,
We shared so many ups and downs when we both became a wife.
She was always a bright spark - always full of fun.
We had no idea then, the deadly disease had begun.
When we knew there was no hope
She was the one who helped me cope.
One day she gave me a tiny box
Wrapped with ribbons and a plastic dove.
"Keep that safe,don't open it,
it's a little box of love."
It's my little piece of comfort,to help me through the years.
Though every time I look at it,I can't hold back the tears.
I miss her and I think of her with every passing day.
Sometimes I think she's with me,when I need to find the way.
I hope she's up there somewhere, looking down on me from above
And watches when I'm sitting here, holding my little box of love.

Thank you for sharing that with us Althea. It reminds me of the tragic way I lost my Mum.

Thank you for sharing that with us Althea. It reminds me of the tragic way I lost my Mum. And reminds me of my late OH, a tragic departure also

Beautiful Althea. You are blessed to have had someone like that in your life, even though she has gone. I envy those with sisters.

We have all lost loved ones. The beauty of a forum like this is that we can share that memory.
