Cardew Robinson
Born: August 14, 1917, Goodmayes, Ilford. Died: December 28, 1992, Roehampton, London
I hated this idiot
Cardew the Cad? How could you hate Cardew the Cad? I confess, the first time I saw him in starring in a film was a few weeks ago, when there was one on BBC2 or London Live* early one Saturday morning. He played someone who had never left school, or something like that. It was pretty bad anyway, though it might have been enjoyable if you were in the mood. Before that, I'd seen him in small parts in other comedies (a traffic policeman in Oh What a Whopper!, with Adam Faith, where he appeared in one scene, one shot really. Otherwise, I just knew him from a stack of Radio Fun Annuals that my Uncle had. Viz used to do some wonderful parodies of the Radio Fun style; the characters always looked as though they were dancing, with pointed feet and elbows, and the Viz artist captured this style wonderfully. The only example of this I can find on nine is a strip about Mervyn King looking for toilet paper, so I think I'd get grief off Jonjel (at least) if I reproduced it here. It's good though. *London Live, if you don't know it, shows things like an extremely stiff 50s Sherlock Holmes (that has nothing to do with the original stories) and all the Ealing films you've never heard of. It might not even be called London Live, now that I think of it.

Robert Archibald Shaw (9 August 1927 – 28 August 1978) was an English actor and novelist, remembered for his performances in From Russia with Love (1963), A Man for All Seasons (1966), The Sting (1973), the original The Taking of Pelham One Two Three (1974), Black Sunday (1977), The Deep (1977) and Jaws (1975), where he played the shark hunter Quint. Robert Shaw was one of my favourite actors when I was a teen.He was in a TV series on children's TV,I've forgotten the title of it now.I know it so well. How annoying!

Jenny Hanley - she's in it. Fine piece of Horror/Exploitation. Ray Brooks (Mr Benn and King Rollo) is in it as well. (I cut the illustration: three times on a page is too many.)

One of the first glamour weather presenters, and for unsubstantiated allegations about Sven Goran Ericson and John Leslie when she had a book to sell
The interview I saw when she talked about Ericson seemed to make things pretty clear. Had she been lying then I doubt her children were, and she would I think have been sued.
