Somebody (It would not have been Trump, far too thoughtful) said that previous generations had fought and died so people had the right to stand by the flag and for the anthem. What they forget is those same generations also fought so people if they chose had the right not to stand by the flag. Didn't American schoolchildren used to have to swear allegiance to the flag every morning? Is so, do they still do that

They certainly do it in some places, but they don't have to - a school principal in Texas said recently (I could maybe find a link if you want, but not now) that it's the law, but it isn't; children don't even have to get permission from their parents if they don't want to do it.
Exactly. It's frightening that Trump and his supporters think otherwise. Don't they understand what freedom of expression means?

Trump dedicates golf trophy to hurricane victimsPresident Trump on Sunday dedicated a golf trophy to the victims of recent powerful storms that tore through Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico, all the while defending the government's response to the disasters.
"On behalf of all of the people of Texas, and all of the people -- if you look today and see what is happening, how horrible it is but we have it under really great control -- Puerto Rico and the people of Florida who have really suffered over this last short period of time with the hurricanes, I want to just remember them," the president said.
"And we're going to dedicate this trophy to all of those people that went through so much that we love -- a part of our great state, really part of our great nation," he continued.
Trump's remarks were made as he presented the trophy to U.S. captain Steve Strickler following the Presidents Cup golf tournament in New Jersey.(Like everyone else, I thought this was a parody. It isn't.)

MrN was asking why I have such a visceral reaction to the man, I can’t answer that as I don’t know, I just start muttering when I hear anything about him.

Trumps latest..... Why do we have to have all these immigrants from shithole places like Peru, St Salvador and Africa? Why can't we get immigrants from places like Norway.
He will not be coming to London to open the new US embassy. Reason?: It was Obama's folly to sell the old place and build a new one.
Wrong again Rump. It's was George W who ordered it!

I think they owned the building on a leasehold basis, they sold the building for it is believed £500,000 to some Arab sounding company who plan to turn it into an hotel. The building is listed so the façade cannot be altered or it would have sold for more. Grosvenor Estates, aka Duke of Westminster own the land

I wonder how long it took the anti Trumpers to find this secretary complaining about her pay rise. Perhaps she would be happier if her pay went down Contrasted with the other comment that "workers are starting to notice larger paychecks following tax overhaul" What was it about "fake news", maybe he is right

The point of it is that people in the top tax bracket got a hell of a lot more than $1.50 a week - they got millions, billions in some cases. And here is Paul Ryan (who has just been given $500,000 by two of the largest beneficiaries, the Koch brothers (pronounced Cock), as well as his own massive tax cut) boasting about how good it is for low rate tax payers, who will be losing a lot more than they gain.
Ryan has already deleted the tweet.

The top tax bracket people by definition earn a lot more and pay an hell of a lot more tax so it's logical that they should get the greater tax cuts. The same people that create the wealth, and jobs It's only the green eyed who envy this
