I've noticed that we have quite a number of animal lovers on the forum, so thought I would create a thread to share news of our pets, dogs, cats, goldfish, ferrets, hampsters, rabbits, goats...anything. Not just our own, but those we meet in the street!!

I still have my foster dog living with me, and it has now been eight weeks. His owner is a good friend and has had a major op but is thankfully recovering and able to get about a bit albeit on crutches. He is a lurcher and as soft as they come, and what is more impeccably behaved.
I made him a coat out of an old one of mine for when it rains. Reasonable but not that good so bought one last week in the market. The problem is he is so skinny that it is OK for length but wraps round him like a duvet! So that is being altered and if I get a mo I might just let you all have a picture of him.
What has not changed is that when I walk him much the same route as my own dogs when I had them we are still meeting yappy dogs with owners at the other end of a lead flying the dogs like kites. Why oh why can't people with dogs learn how to train them. They would have to if the dogs were bigger than the average cat.

Problem is Arena that although I have a beast of a camera most quick pictures are taken on the phone, and it takes me a lot of fiddle faddling about to get phone pics on the pc. But I will try, maybe tomorrow.
You can have him with coat MK1, and without coat.

One thing about cats....they're sure-footed.

And boy, do they hate being laughed at... which of course makes it all the more fun.

We have been debating as to whether or not we should get another dog, but our minds were made up for us. Via the British grapevine here in Côte d'Armor it came to the notice of someone who knew we were cosidering it that a home was needed for a two year old collie/labrador cross whose mistress was terminal ill with cancer and due to be hospitalised, we were approached and after a lot of debate we said yes. It was the right decision because the old lady died four days after we took the dog, furthermore he has already turned out to be a wonderful and well behaved companion.

Well done Seadog.
My foster dog came back to see me over Christmas. We were very pleased to see each other. Owner is doing well and only on one stick as opposed to two crutches. And the foster dog bought me a very decent bottle of Scotch!

Nice well bred foster dog, Rufus didn't bring me anything when he came to live with us He has brought you a great deal of joy, and hard work of course! My foster dog has been treated to a new bed. His old one is the one he sleeps on at night by the boiler. The new one I am told is now in the lounge in the evenings because since he has returned home he keeps longingly looking at the owners settee! Did I let him on the one by the window in my house? well, maybe just once or thrice!!

Well said, JJ, he has indeed brought a great joy and happiness and very few problems, except that the bed is getting rather crowded at night now that he and the kitten have become friends.
