Watched it faithfully when it was shown last year - grand stuff! It was strange, by the way, to see Essie Davis (who plays Miss Phryne Fisher) playing Dylan Thomas's wife Caitlin in a drama about Thomas's life - a hell of a long way from the Hon. Miss Fisher!
Love the syrup, by the way - very stylish.

Hi Arena I thought we'd discussed it somewhere here before, but buggered if I can find it now. Yes, I love Miss Fisher, though having read the books I get a bit nit-picky when the scripts deviate from them. Essie Davis is wonderful, and I think the young bloke who plays Jack Robinson is an excellent actor. I bought the box set of the first two series a while ago, and had a good binge. Lovely to see what me lovely town might have looked like 90 years ago (in a director's brain, anyway)

I understand the character played by the excellent Miriam Margolyes doesn't occur in the books... still, if she was available they were right to snatch her up and create for her!

I think Miriam is in a few episodes.
She is now an Australian citizen and married to her lesbian doctor partner.

Brilliant lady - her Dickens's Women show (or what I have seen of it on TV) is/was superb.
