Bernard Stanley Bilk (aka Acker) Age 85........ Yes, very sad. I saw him play on many many occasions and had the odd beer with him. A decent and very nice man.

He spoke to me once... he said, "Man, I'm so pissed..." You never forget a thing like that.
It was in a Motorway Choke and Puke at about three in the morning...

I saw him play in the centre of Bristol a few years ago. It was outside, and absolutely bucketing with rain. he said 'may I introduce you to the best, and if not the best certainly the wettest piano player in the world' Water was pouring off the piano, but they still put on a great show. happy days.
