I had a girlfriend who winced every time she heard 'luscious', 'delicious' or 'juice' -- needless to say I said them a lot just to wind her up...

...like Gomez, when Morticia says something vaguely French... do you perchance have the soft 'L' that Scots often do?
You know, 'million' pronounced 'miwyun' and the like...

I believe it sounds ...Pick-you-lee-urr....like that.
It's that Highland thing, of pronouncing every syllable.

Soft 'L' - dark L they called it when I did linguistics back in the day. Over here you can spot Adelaidians by their "dark l"s. Pick-you-lee-urr sounds very sexy, A There's a Scots reporter on one of the radio stations here who does exactly that; pronounces every syllable, so words that in Oz-speak would have at best a schwa (usually just not there) for the last syllable, have an unexpected lilting ending when Scotswoman's on the job. Naturally I can remember neither her name nor an example Anyway: serendipity's a lovely word, I reckon.
