Sleep
Sleep, that gossamer blanket Beckons me to bed Wraps my weary body Stills my busy head Hoovers out my cluttered mind Heals my tired frame Closes down my windows Time out from the game Soothes my tortured temple Comfort soft and deep Man enjoys no greater gift Than a good night’s sleep

Who wrote that one Arena?
The one on sleep I remember is:
Measure me out from your endless deep 20 gallons of perfect sleep
Etc

And damned good too. Thank you for sharing it.
I don't think I will even try to emulate stuff of that quality.

Wonderful, Arena. You don't live in a block of flats, do you? I can just tell

Someone help me out here. The lines I quoted:
Measure me out from your endless deep 20 gallons of perfect sleep
I thought they were Robert Service, but I can't find them and am going nuts, even wondering if they are part of something I wrote perhaps 40 years ago. But I don't think I ever wrote that evocatively.

I really enjoyed reading your poem on sleep,Arena.Excellent writing. Oh,how I would enjoy a good night's sleep. I have insomni-omni-omnia at the moment. I have written a little piece about it. I'll dig it out and post it.
