Sister Boniface has to be in my Top Ten. The sheer farcical nature of the crimes and detection, plus the more you watch the more you get all the quirks and ticks of the characters. It's a marvellous send up of the time period and she does this amazing forensic stuff in a lab at the convent. Joyous. You even forget someone has been murdered.
I also like Shardlake and have just watched the first series and enjoyed it.
I also like the Damian Seeker books, they really are gritty and it's a time period I know very little about so I find it fascinating. I am also reading a series set in Paris in WW2, for the life of me can't remember the name! He's a detective called Eddie, I think. Only read some last night but it's gone at the moment.

I do enjoy McDonald & Dodds. I think it is well written and scripted and I imagine the two leads have something to do with that. I also like the scenery and the dastardly plots. Is there another series?

I went to a talk she gave in Glasgow about the book and it was very interesting.

I am working my way through Endeavour now and it is excellent. I had to get rid of my prejudice of people creating on the back of others' works. I think even Colin Dexter would approve of these series.
Damian Seeker is my hero. I love the Seeker books. SG MacLean is a wonderful writer.
I also love MacDonald and Dobbs and Sister Boniface.

Funny. I love Endeavour but didn't like Morse. I like McDonald & Dobbs but the one that gets me emotional is Unforgotten

Ah, yes, they were brilliant . The solid, low key work Of Sanjeev Baskar and Nicola Walker made it so watchable and believable. I liked Morse, though at times I think they overdid the "brilliance" of his mind. I liked John Thaw, but the character could be a bit overbearing. It was poignant though, how he didn't manage to have a lasting relationship with a good woman. I think he needed one.

I haven't watched any Endeavour yet. I am going to start them soon and binge watch them. I love Endevout but we have watched all of,them too many times so giving them a rest. I especially love Max. I’d forgotten about Unforgotten (no pun intended, if it is indeed a pun) we both loved it.

Weve just started watching The Perfect Couple on Netflix - it's very glamorous, but also, as it turns out, a whodunnit! Nicole kidman is gorgeous.

I can watch Foyle's War on repeat.
I see Bergerac is coming back. I never really took to it the first time, a bit too much about Jim for me.

Probably a sign of the times they were written in.

Loved Foyle , never liked Bergerac nor when he was in Midsommer. I'm watching Broadchurch at the moment. Love David & Olivia. I'm on season 3 . Excellent acting.

I binged the third series of Broadchurch, it was excellent. I was gripped. I also binge watched The Perfect Couple. It was totally OTT, but very entertaining. Is Nicole Kidman in everything?

I read the book, Magpie Murders and was loving it until it became unclear which was the story and which was reality. I watched the series and then I understood what was going on. Love Lesley Manville.
