I saw you again on the street today
and the years between seemed to melt away
As you looked at me in the same old way.
In your eyes I could see your pain
and I felt the guilt all over again.
I knew you loved me with no reserve
and it was always more than I deserved.
But I could never love you how you loved me
and I could never make you see.
The guilt engulfed me once again
because in your eyes, I saw your pain.
I saw you again on the street today
then I quickly turned and walked away.
