 The USA has been wallowing in 'roasting' for some years now. What is it? A playground take on humour.In other words a license to be scathingly rude and pass it of as a joke. Last night at the Oscars Chris Rock made such a 'joke' about Wilf Smith's wife's hair (she is suffering from Alopecia) Smith clocked him. Good! Maybe this will put a stop to this kind of substitute for humour and we can get back to comedians being funny. What are your views? |

My views are that Chris Rock should not have made a joke about Will's wife. Will was justified in slugging him.
I watched it on TV, then saw Will, with tears in his eyes apologising to all and sundry.
I think he should have stood up for himself and said that cruel jibes about his wife were way out of line.

I second that and thought exactly the same Althea.
Its bad enough having things wrong with loved ones without others thinking its funny to make jokes about it.
It a different situation IF the person afflicted makes fun of themselves.
