BTW:
The James Webb telescope developed and built by the EU and USA has taken 10 years to make and launch. It has cost 35 billion £
The Con party have spent nearly double that on brexit and failed covid fiascos.

Several minor surgeries and two broken computers later, here I am.
Gove says that they will fix no fault evictions.............but they've been saying that since Eve saw an apple.
Everyone knows that we need properly registered and vetted landlords (via local councils), repair lines with registered requests and rent control. Of course you get a landlord on the radio saying how awful his tenant was but by far and away the majority are not problems.
Perhaps we need to have a published list of MPs who are landlords, then we might see why it never gets passed.

They can't afford to scrap it but they could merge it. However they would need it to provide at least £50 billion a year.
There's no pretence that any of it is ring fenced. It is simply an extra tax but one that gives you the right to benefits and a pension.
To provide £50 billion a year tax rates would have to increase massively.
I think we'd all prefer it if it was ring fenced.
We should not forget in all of the current discussion, which is frankly nothing more than a distraction from the actual budget, that Johnson increased NI to support social care and that went nowhere at all. They've never come up with a hint of a plan, not a smidgen.

Well they can't seem to go a week without a scandal can they. First Donelan lying on twitter about the academics being terrorist sympathisers and now Hester being shown up as a racist. I understand there will be calls for them to give the 10 million back - very likely. Sunak flies about in Hester's helicopter. This morning some minister said he'd be happy to take another 10 million from Hester. Unreal! That's how they are.There only form of defence is attack. Deny all of your lies and prejudice , just attack the opposition. If that means false accusations or blatant lies , so what. |

It was alarmingly notable that the Speaker refused to make eye contact with Diane Abbott today at PMQs. She stood at every opportunity straining to be given a chance to speak and was ignored every time. I think that was very badly done. Regardless of what you think about Diane Abbott she is the MP that was maligned and she is the MP that Hester suggested should be shot.
It now appears that he regularly made jokes of a racist nature at work meetings in front of his staff team, once telling them he was going to Malaysia and he didn't know any jokes about Malaysians but he'd have some by the time he came back.
Truly awful man. Who by the way has apologised but not denied anything he said.

Well it now appears that Hester has given the Tory Party £15 million but this year's accounts haven't been published yet. Is this just generosity or what does he get back? Does he get IT contracts etc.

I am no fan of Diane Abbott at all but she is an elected MP and deserves her voice in the house.
