Not so bright today, but no rain,so that's OK. I'm going over the border into England today. I haven't been there for over a year. I have been keeping an eye on the trial and I'm glad that President Biden has made a statement about it. I think it will stop them trying to lessen the charges. Really? I am appalled that any politician of any colour should comment on a trial while it is in progress. Yes the jury were out at the time but there is absolutely no guarantee they did not hear or see his comments. You sound disappointed with the outcome.
BTW The jury had made their decision. It had not been publicly announced.

At this distance it is difficult to get things in order, but it seems like the Judge allowed the allowed the Jurors to get well clear of the Court before their decision was published. I have no idea of the Legalities of that, nor of advising the President, but it seemed to be a good practice to clear the Jurors first.

I am not in the least disappointed with the outcome. But I think politicians should stick to politics. They don't, but they damned well should.

Absolutely agree JJ. Appalling actions and I did not care for what was said after, either by him or Kamala Harris.
The decision was the correct one although mention was made by the defence of drugs etc found in Floyd's bloodstream being a contributing factor, which might have cast doubt in some jurors minds, so I was concerned that the verdict had to be unanimous. It was. It was clear that the use of force (kneeling) was both excessive and unnecessary. However, I think these two had a history (apparently they worked as security in the same night club) so Chauvin was not simply acting as an officer of the law dealing with an anonymous arrest when he did that (imo)
