I rang my solicitor earlier today. Our travel company rang me to offer me a refund of £700.
I paid over £1500. The flight isn't going and the hotel we go to is closed until March 2021. That being the case I can't see why we don't have a better refund. It's not the money it's the principle. The airline are not going so why take our money, the hotel is closed so why do we have to pay for 10 days we can't have. The Foreign office say ONLY essential travel abroad is advised so If you go and even If you have expensive insurance, it's invalid If you fall ill while away because of the Government advice
Anyway, she told me to make a complaint to Abta which I have done. Maybe I won't get anywhere but as I say it's the principle.

Pursue it and don't let them put you off. They broke the contract, so you should get all of your money back.
