I think the reasons for protesting are valid, but they are going about it the wrong way. Stopping people getting to work is not the way to do it. They need to get at the government and other agencies who have some sort of power to deal with climate change. I have always wondered about times in history when people could see a catastrophe coming and ignored it. I always wondered why they didn't tackle the problem. Sadly, now I know why.

Do you really think that us in the UK giving up all our electricity gadgets and our cars is going to affect the environment whilst countries such as USA, China, India, and Russia continue to spew poisonous substances into the atmosphere?

No,Jimmy,of course I don't. This is a world problem, not a British one. Although Britain is part of the world. As I sit here with my special lightbulbs and my bag for life,I wonder what,if any, difference it makes. I didn't think my post implied that I am so naive to believe that the minimal steps taken by some countries will make the least bit of difference.

I always wondered about the campaign to ban plastic bags from supermarkets That was sold on the "thousand years" to disintegrate. I wondered who put one down a thousand years ago
