I'm with Clio on this one. I have never smoked and I think vaping will prove to be a dangerous pastime.
I always hated the smell of tobacco and thought smoking was a dirty habit.
My parents both smoked and my siblings too.so I grew up in a smoke filled house.
My ex-husband also smoked. Maybe that is why I have asthma now.

I was a very heavy smoker until I retired, only stopped because of the ever increasing cost I don't miss it one bit |

My mate was so dedicated to roll-ups he virtually had Smoker under Occupation on his passport, but then he started vaping instead and now he doesn't smoke any more: which also means that when I go to the pub with him I don't smoke either.

This vaping trend is fast becoming a problem with school children.
As with all trends it looks supposedly cool to vape. And I don't wish to be sexist but I hate seeing women of any age standing outside pubs or restaurants vaping. Not elegant at all.

I'm not sure what it is you're supporting If it is the legalisation of cannabis I'm afraid I disagree Caught my son smoking pot aged 14 and no matter how hard we tired we could not stop him. He progressed to alcohol and heroin, abuse I believe he still continues Having tried everything to stop him I eventually stopped him visiting (you had to watch him every second - he would steal whatever he could to feed his habit), and consequently we are estranged I would however support any scheme that made the substances available from the local chemist (as methadone currently is) to inject some control and take the profit away from the drugs barons |

That would be better than a blood test, which can pick up traces a few weeks after having had a toke, rather than a few hours (it's one reason why people in prison go onto harder drugs, which disappear from the bloodstream in a short time: they're easy to get hold of, and there's less chance of being caught in a random blood test).

When I was a young woman I was offered a cannabis cigarette to try,but was warned it would probably make me sick the first time.
I refused the offer politely. I don't think I need stimulants of any type to help me enjoy life.
I have had many hobbies over the years and they have given me highs and lows.
If I need to escape from reality,I read a book.
The decline of reading as a pastime is tragic .

About 12 years ago I was on my own so a friend invited me to an annual New Year party, held in a local B&B guest house. which I accepted Everything imaginal was happening at this party and I realised that it was not really for me However in one of the rooms there was a drug orgy ,including smoking dope and I was invited to smoke some cannabis. I had one drag of the cigarette which seemed to have no effect, and I left the party I have no idea how I drove home, the car was parked on the pavement next day and I had a permanent erection for the following 36 hours which I could not get rid of  |

I'd have thought cough more than throw up (though of course if you cough enough...). You probably wouldn't have got anything off it the first time though.
I've had it on and off since about 16. I've never wanted anything harder (well, speed once, and that made me fall asleep - I think I was burned there 😸 - and LSD once, which was amazing). I read Burroughs at a very young age and he put me off heroin, and Coke always seemed ghastly - a rich person's drug, that made them more obnoxious than they already are.
I miss hash - resin - and I'm not that keen on Skunk, which doesn't taste very nice - I'm as concerned about the process of it as the affect. I'd like hash for the nostalgia as well - sitting in my bedroom window on a summer night at 17 and blowing smoke over the tennis courts there. The few times I've been able to get it more recently I have one puff and I'm back there - that taste and smell evocation thing.

It's never done that for me, Jimmy 😲 - and one puff on its own has never done anything for me - are you sure it wasn't something else?

I don't think so Aub, there was the usual party food at the party - stuff I've eaten plenty of over the years without any trouble, sausage rolls, scotch eggs, boiled eggs, cheese and pineapple on sticks. There was some strange sort of trifle which I avoided The main problem was that I was on shift the next day and three pairs of tight underpants could not hide my problem !!! |

No, I meant, are you sure it was just cannabis, and not something like opium, say (I've never had that so I don't know how it would affect you)? I've never had cannabis strong enough to show any affect at all from one puff.
