Mine is the fast-forward function on the telly command , so I can skip all the annoying ads.

The binoculars -particularly small ones.

Mobile phones. All the years going abroad on holiday and having to find a telephone kiosk and the money to phone home. The line was bad too. Now you can phone anywhere in the world and connect instantly and it sounds like they're in the same room. Amazing, no wires.

He was in a remote part of Vietnam. It sounded like he was in the room.

Remember the delight of queuing up outside a telephone box, certainly in the UK, and because you could hear every word said by whoever was using the phone enjoying hearing what grandad had for dinner and that he hadn't been to the toilet since they got here
