Is there any accent that gets you annoyed or sounds unpleasant to you? With me it's probably a north Yorkshire accent.

To me it's that hard Liverpool scouse accent. Fingernails down a blackboard

I've found that knowing and liking someone with an accent you find unpleasant usually takes the edge off it; I didn't use to like Birmingham accents, but after several years of loading vans with some people from Birmingham (the company I worked for had a contract with a haulage company to take stuff to Birmingham) I came to like it.
I have really got to dislike the "neutral" (I suppose it's Californian) accent that teenagers in modern horror films have; but that's probably as much a dislike for the conventions of that sort of film as the accent, I think, since I don't notice the accents in (say) Buffy.

I have to say I love regional accents - even the ones that are a wee bit difficult to understand! The 'put on' accents of the yoof really annoys - false, false, false. When I started my teaching career (many moons ago) it was in the most ethnically diverse place in the country - no false accents there.
