The gold cup on Friday is interesting, Old Moore's almanac is tipping a 9 year old that is likely to start near favourite, only one horse fits that description. Native river.

Don't you just love it when a punter puts £10,000 on the favourite to win, and it comes nowhere Who on earth has that sort of money to bet with, make my usual £1 each way seem laughable

That's why it's a mugs game Jimmy. I've heard many times of that happening. With Cheltenham though, if the ground is soggy a donkey from Blackpool beach could win a race. I do have a bet now and then but I really prefer the flat racing.

I find jump racing more exciting and unpredictable, flat racing they belt off and quickly finish. Used to love a day out at Newton Abbott but they sold the car park off and you now have to go a long way down a very narrow lane to park in the middle of the course

What a day, Bryony Frost winning the big race - women jockeys are here to stay no matter what the TV male commentators think. Her father, Jimmy Frost was a successful jockey and I always used to back him at Newton Abbott Then the blind owner, Andrew Gemmell who everybody speaks well of winning his race

I did a lucky 15 today and had three winners and a second. One of my winners was frodon and the two Barry Geraghty horses. I always do a £1 e/w roll up so the place accumulator will go towards my holiday spends.
