Yes, even though St Patrick is celebrated by the Irish, he was actually born in Wales.

There's a bit of Irish in our family too. I may have already posted this. My father was in the navy ,during and after the war. When he was in port, he would claim to be Irish on St. Pat's day and English on St. George's day etc. People would always buy him drinks to celebrate "his" saint's day.

She didn't mention Scotland - hence the comment re Ireland!
The Irish are having a long weekend of celebrations as tomorrow is a public holiday - I hope they have plenty of euros in their pockets as I have paid the price for alcoholic drinks in Dublin!!
There is another issue here - we can buy Scotch here far cheaper than in the UK - right or wrong but it is the truth! Taxes eh?!
