I know what you mean Maris, I've been putting off getting a new washer for ages. We had new flooring last year and I'm afraid of them tearing the wooden flooring. So, I've been getting this old machine repaired when it goes wrong. I know one day soon I will have to chance it and get a new one. I know your hesitation so well Ron. Maybe you have a local outfit you could go to, where they know what they're doing - rather than the big boys where the only benefit is saving a few quid on the price...?

Honestly, the sophistication of kids these days... We were invited yesterday to our nephew and his wife's for their six year old daughters family birthday tea. Her mum was telling me about the day before and the party with her 'besties' (as she called them 🙄) Not jelly and musical chairs/pass the parcel. Oh No. Her daughter had asked for a Spa Day...A Spa Day!!! Can you believe it? She had half a dozen friends round and her mum had to ask her sister to come along and help give these little kids face packs, manicures, hair braids plus general pampering and being waited upon. I just couldn't believe it 🙄😁🙄

That's kids for you these days. I remember the grandaughter buying all new clothes for her "Prom night" That's a new thing from our younger days.

I would never live with anyone again either, Rwth. I am getting selfish in my old age and I like it. I can do what I like when I like. It is cold and wet here today (for a change.) I 'm not going out, so it doesn't matter. It's not like our day, is it maris, when we were delighted with coloured jellies and a game of pass the parcel. Personally, I think it's a shame that children can't be children any more. They're like little adults. I remember, once at a family do, we were talking about the past and my son said that he had a magical childhood. I felt so proud.

I fitted a new draught seal to my lounge door six quid from Wickes and a tenner from b&q , they only had silver ones.

I never said anything of course apart from expressing amazement... However, in the car on the way home, Bob was incensed and thought it wholly inappropriate. I just couldn't fathom where they would even get the Idea.

Up where Hild? Your not from my neck-of-the-woods are you? (the Highlands) No, not the Highlands, but this photo was taken in Aberdeen. I'm from Sunderland. By photo - I decided to show my face as almost everyone else is.

Morning all: 6C this morning, so no frost thankfully. Will have to get a few things in before Easter, off to supermarket then into town.

Well I had made an effort that day! I'm not a great one for make-up and rarely wear it, by that I mean I might wear it a few times a year. It was a do, so I dug it out from the back of the cabinet that day. I dress very casually at work - you can't run after a student unless you have trainers on and you don't want to be sprawling on the floor in a pencil skirt. Pencil skirt - that takes me back, we all wore them didn't we. Sadly the padding I have now would put me off.

It's lovely to see you, hild. You look lovely. (I still wear pencil skirts - they make them in all sizes.) I can't wear trousers, although jeans don't look so bad on me. I think jeans suit everyone - well, almost. It is cold today, proper wintery cold. I binge watched a new sci fi serial on Netflix - The 3 body problem. It was interesting and had some original ideas, weird, but interesting. My sister has read the books and we compared notes. I don't think I could have read the books.
