My hands are very painful this morning. It may be because I got up in the night and did some beading. I couldn't sleep, so I got up and got on with a picture I'm making with tiny beads. I won't be able to do any of it today. I won't be able to do much of anything. I'm typing with one finger - tedious.

I also have awful trouble with my hands now, I bought one of those pens that are similar to having acupunctre. They do help for a while but the pain comes back after an hour or so.

My hands are slightly better now. I have splints and magnetic gloves, but really only pain killers and heatpads work.

Ooh, just noticed I have passed the 4,000 mark with my number of posts. How did that happen?

Morning all: Not doing much today beside looking after our Molly. Today, but for this virus we would be have been on our way home from Spain, it wasn't meant to be.

Morning all: Dark and miserable this morning, so washing will have to be tumbled. More places going into lock down is so depressing as this lingers on and on.

Late last night I got a call from the dementia home. OH had had a bad fall and hit his head which was bleeding. They called an ambulance and took him to hospital. I stayed awake, because they promised to call me and let me know what was going on. They didn't call me back. I eventually dropped off early this morning. I got a call from a doctor at the hospital, to say they had wanted to do a blood test and a brain scan on OH, but he was too agitated and aggressive for them to do it. So he is now on his way back to the home. He has been at this extremely expensive home for eight days and has had two falls, despite having one to one care round the clock. I am not impressed.

Unfortunately falling is a regular symptom of dementia , I understand. Stay brave Althea. Don't let the situation bring you down.

I have had seven phone calls this morning and an email about a meeting(Skype) to establish how much funding we will have to pay. The first four weeks are paid by the healthboard. I have just printed off 20 pages they have sent me on how they decide which level of care OH needs. I don't think there is much point in me reading them all. They know him better than I do now. I am not miserable in my self, just stressed about OH. In a way, I am getting used to it now.

As said before Althea, your OH is in a nursing home because he requires nursing care and therefore you should not have to pay more than 50% of the costs. The NHS should pick up the rest.

I had all this with my wife's mother a few years ago. We had to pay £450 a month which was split between 3 of us. I sympathise with you because there's nothing you can do but put your trust in the caring staff.

Morning all: Another busy day ahead so I'm hoping it stays dry. Got banking to do and I always feel like a bank robber going in with a black face mask.
