Morning all: A better day ahead than yesterdays storm. Floods all around us and even some trees down. At least I can put washing out on the line today.

The days and nights are now gradually getting colder. We've had the central heating on for about 30 minutes just to take the chill off.

Last night, the hospital staff very kindly set up a Skype session between OH and me. OH is very fretful, which is no wonder, he's been in hospital for 7 weeks and had 3 different infections. They got me on the phone 3 times yesterday, so he could talk to me, but sadly he has forgotten how a phone works. It was a very frustrating experience for us both. They are wonderful with him and bring him cake in. Anyway, we set up our Skype connection because he wants to see me, but all the time we were connected he had his eyes closed. I could see him, but he couldn't see me. I was shocked when I saw how much weight he has lost. He looked so frail. They have said I could visit him as he's in a side room alone. I am terrified of catching covid, but now I've seen how poorly he looks, I think I should go.

I don't know How to soothe your problem, Althea, I can only send Best Wishes. You Mentioned COVID. Is that actually Your Husband's current ailment, or is it one of the Three during his 7 weeks? I'm sure it will be safe if The Hosp says so. .. but that's easy for me to say. Best Wishes.

Thank you ,GLO. My OH has not had covid, luckily. He has had pneumonia, cellulitis and a water infection. I know he hasn't got covid, but it's in the hospital. I'll have to decide what to do over the weekend. It ain't easy.

That tends to imply that you are not Vulnerable to Corvid.. (I speak as an ex-pneumoniac, and ex-stroke for that matter). I still see my Kid Sister (as recently as last weekend) who is working in a Hospital, incl COVID wards. Not that those things are directly relevant.

Taking precautions, I think it's the right thing to do Althea. If anything was to happen you would never forgive yourself. I know it's unnerving in these shocking times we are going through but you will feel better having seen him and maybe holding hands for a few minutes.

Morning all: Hopefully a lazy day for me, nothing planned. Looks like a nice day today. Schools reopen around here on Tuesday so the traffic will be busier than for the past five months.

Morning all: Last day of August and the last bank holiday before Christmas. Not that it means much to us, we don't go anywhere on a bank holiday. Just another day.
