I took my wife into town this morning, first time out for her since March. She wanted books from waterstones, we both wore our masks but to be honest no one else wore a mask. I went into M&S and was the only one there wearing a mask.

I didn't realise this was such an teaphobic place. I'm going to have to reconsider my options.

I've reconsidered. I'm going to have a cup of tea.

Thanks jimmy. I suppose I should have been scandalised, but I wasn't. We're not "hose", honestly.

Morning all: Another very warm night, finding it hard to sleep at the moment. This morning I'm taking my glasses back because I can't see much through them.

Yes Jimmy I did have an eye test wearing masks of course. Been this morning and they tested my eyes again and admitted they had got it wrong. So now have to wait again for new glasses.

It's good that they admit it, though.

Morning all: well that was a very warm night for sleeping. I got up a few times and found it hard to get back off. Not doing much today, hopefully a lazy day.

I have been potting my Hostas on this morning. What a job and have only got through half of them. I was in the garden all morning and had to stop when my eyes went a bit funny and I started to shake. I have overdone it, of course. There is just so much to do out there. I haven't been able to do much for a long time. I had to do everything a bit at a time, not like I used to do. I could only carry one pot at a time , it was frustrating and I can hardly walk now. But it will pass. I do have a huge sense of achievement. My only worry, is the lecture my daughter will give me when she comes tomorrow. I hope I can walk without a stick when she comes, or she will be very cross.

Well done for what you've done. It's nice to look at whatever you've achieved. I've been re grouting the kitchen tiles, got so far then packed in for the day. Like you I can only do so much before the aches and pains start, but I like to some things for myself rather than ask someone else to do it. I will finish it if it takes weeks to do.

We removed all our beds and lawned the lot for the dog's benefit. So much easier to just run the mover round as needed If your daughter is critical then give the shovel/trowel and tell her to get on with it !

It is nice, and satisying to do things oneself but there comes a time when a lot of things are beyond us
