It's good that he's responding to treatment anyway. It felt funny having my haircut today, They wore a plastic helmet and I wore a mask, I couldn't hang my jacket up, had to have it on my knee in case someone else hung there's up near it. Each time she cut around my ears she took the elastic band off and I had to hold the mask over my face. They've got cubicles now so that you are away from everyone else. What do they do if you want a beard trim? Apparently this is allowed now but women are not allowed to have eyebrows plucked etc leading to howls of "discrimination". They can't trim your beard if you're wearing a mask

Funny you should mention that ... Bloke wanted to trim my sideboards (but the don't grow), made an attempt on my beard )odd, that's usually a More expensive option than A Trim, and then wanted to trim my eyebrows? I draw the line at some bod getting scissors near my eyes...

I am squeamish about my eyes, so I dreaded the cataract op first time. It wasn't pleasant, but the results make it so worthwhile. I will have the second eye done a fortnight today. (fingers crossed.)

I suppose we are all squeamish about our eyes. I was lucky, if you call it that as I had to go to the eye hospital a few years ago. I was examined and told I needed an operation. I cussed under my breath thinking 'I have got to come back, more time I don't have' so asked when. And was told 'Now!' I drew a deep breath and said I needed a little time, first because I was freezing and needed to go over the road to buy a jumper in the charity shop (it was winter and I had gone in as instructed by my optician on the bus) and second, I need a smoke. Yes I am a very naughty boy and smoke a pipe. I was told I had 15 mins. I got back to be greeted by a guy in scrubs, and signed the consent forms in the lift! My first sight of my surgeon was when he leant over me with his eyes level with my nose, and his chin somewhere at hair level, in other words upside down and said 'hello!'
They were great and but for them I would now be blind in my right eye. I came out about 2 hours later, with everything strange colours and went home on the bus, about an hours ride. I owe them big time because I never had time to even think about it, or worry too much.

That's the best way to do it, no time to worry and worked up. A pal of mine had similar, he went for a regular check up and the optician referred him immediately to the hospital. There and then they operated and said If he'd left it much longer he would have been blind.

Was everything "strange colours" on your bus ride home ? Reminded me of OH who had teeth removed under injection at the dentist. We were advised to sit in the waiting room for 30 mins which we ignored, and headed for the bus. I had to support OH who appeared to any observer to be drunk, and commenting all the way that things were "ginger coloured"

Morning all: Another dark morning, more like autumn than summer. Hopefully it will pick up for the weekend.

They say Sunday will be a nice day, but I think they keep promising good weather just to try to cheer us up.

2020 is already a write off for us. Four months in quarantine up to now and who knows....If there is another Lockdown it could turn into a full year yet.
