I bought two chicken breasts off our butcher this morning to make a roast dinner this afternoon. Whilst in Morrisons we came across diced ox heart, dirt cheap, so we bought some to give it a try. I notice it's a three hour cooking job or it could be tough, but I remember my mother serving up stuffed heart and that must have been ok

I like their liver but I'm the only one in the family so just buy enough for me.

I like their liver but I'm the only one in the family so just buy enough for me. Have never attempted to cook liver, nightmare memories of it being served for school dinners - the schoolboy joke was always who had lost the leather off their shoes. Do eat it though, Tesco lambs liver, bacon, and onions already cooked for £2.60p - a huge lump and a smaller lump, ideal for us two and it's delicious

I buy that myself occasionally Jimmy, I prefer the one they do on it's own without the mash.

I've not eaten liver since I was 16, 40+ years ago. I still remember how it tasted (IE, not good). I stopped eating meat altogether 18 months later.

Both of us enjoy liver and onions. Our childrenb as cchildren hated it with a passion. I remember making it into a stew to try to fool them - it didn't! Off out for a walk along the beach this afternoon, hope the weather stays fair! Hope you are all having a good weekend.

Yes, I'm sure it's that horrible Smash stuff they use.

Yes, I'm sure it's that horrible Smash stuff they use. I don't think it is. A friend made me a meal some years back and that included Smash potato, it was very nice Don't know if you can still get it

Don't know if it's still around but that stuff they put in ready meals sure looks like it.

Don't know if it's still around but that stuff they put in ready meals sure looks like it. I googled Smash and it is still available from most supermarkets, have never seen it though I wonder if my experience of many years ago was down to the quality of the potatoes we ate then. Now we only use Maris Piper for mash, roast, and chips but I don't remember this name being around then. All I remember was Home Guard which my parents grew but they seem to have vanished
