The press are lionising, again. Was he so wonderful? To me he was always the same, no matter what he was doing He followed the Olivier, Rossiter, Harrison, and others method of always making sure he was centre stage

There's a twist of irony in that his natural successor, Barrymore, finally won justice in the courts but probably too late to resurrect is career

I think, in his niche area, Bruce Forsyth was good, but maybe not as good as he thought he was. As for Barrymore, even without the arrest, it would've been difficult for him to come out smelling of roses after a drug fuelled/dead body scenario in his own back yard!

Didn't seem to do the Rolling Stones much harm I think that talent wins through at the end of the day regardless of the circumstances

Bit different when you hold yourself up as the 'family show' man !

Oh yes, I like him for some qualities, but heartthrob? As for dad, was he a liberal on the drugs thing? Anyway, it's all got a long way from Bruce Forsyth...

I never thought he was as good as he thought he was - in fact, I really didn't like him at all.

Now we are getting the details of his last breath, surrounded by his family doubtless shouting "Higher, Higher"

Sad to hear of his death but wasn't a great fan and I wonder how long it will be before the muck gets raked, I know there were previous questions about his tax situation and his political opinions. Some are calling for a statue outside of the BBC, I think not, well I hope not. Perhaps they could make a conveyor belt and run it along the side of the building and put statues of other similar people on it, at various times of the day it could light up, play a theme tune, shout a catchphrase and delight all the fans.....................sorry crazy tacky idea!!
