We all know Arena (Add-to-Basket to his friends) and the pitfalls of yet more must-haves. As most of us appear to be cooks on here, I would be interested to know your best gadget/utensil buy.
I love my microplane grater (actually I have two) brilliant for all cheeses but particularly Parmesan. Btw, NEVER touch the cheese with your hands. Where you touch, that's where the mould will grow. Always hold it inside the bag/wrapping.

Functional - but not exactly decorative 😒 - a woman would be unlikely to buy one - and definitely not four 😁

The best gadget I have bought over the last few years is a motion sensor for the light on the stairs. It was either that or a lot of faffle when I was rewiring that part of the house with double switching. It works a dream - go round the corner and the light comes on, and goes off when you are clear of the stairs.
And the grandchildren love it and have tried for hours to see if they can sneak up on it without the light going on. They can't!
The only minor drawback is that on wild and windy nights sometimes the light comes on and I wonder if I have uninvited visitors.
