England's women are going well in the World Cup and look well placed to reach the semi-finals - they just need to avoid a heavy defeat in their final group match against West Indies. The qualifiers from Group B will be any 2 of England, S Africa and W Indies.
Big match in Group A today with India taking on Australia. The Aussies are more or less certain to go through to the semis, but India probably need to beat them to go through - otherwise they'll be reliant on Pakistan beating New Zealand in the final group match.

Oh, dear! England's women crashed out of the T20 World Cup when they lost their final group match to West Indies, who hadn't beaten them for 6 years. With 3 teams level on 6 points, it was England who had the worst run rate, so West Indies and South Africa qualify for the semi-finals, in which WI face New Zealand and SA play Australia.
Not a great day for England's men, either: after reaching 211/2 they lost 4 wickets for 14 runs in the space of 18 deliveries and finished on 239/6, still 127 runs behind Pakistan's first innings total of 366. On a turning wicket, they will do well not to lose from there.

Another bad day for England in Multan: Their last 4 wickets added only 52 more runs today - and Jack Leach got 25 of them! - giving Pakistan a first innings lead of 75. Some early wickets when Pakistan batted again raised hopes but they eventually allowed them, courtesy of a few dropped catches, to score 221. On a worn pitch, a target of 297 to win seems beyond them - especially as they lost both openers before the close - and even 197 might be too many - but while there's Root there's still some hope.
A shock result in the women's T20 World Cup saw South Africa beat the overwhelming favourites, Australia in the semi-finals - and by quite a margin, too.

I am watching the cricket between England and New Zealand: NZ having trouble getting the last couple out. But one just out as I was writing this. Ben Stokes out for 80. England 480 - 9.

When I went to bed just after lunch on day 2 of the first Test, I was expecting another England collapse followed by a dismal defeat, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that they rallied well enough to build a big lead and win the match quite comfortably. I was pleased to see that Tim Southee hit a couple of sixes and needs only five more in the last 2 Tests before he retires to reach 100 in his career. Only 2 players have hit more - and both were born in New Zealand.
On the plus side for NZ, the Black Caps completed an unprecedented clean sweep in India and the White Ferns won the women's T20 World Cup.
