Are there any things you want but can't afford? I would like one of those double door fridges that dispense cold water and ice.

Most of the things I want money can not buy.
There is very little that I want materially.

I would like a holiday home abroad to spend the winter there and the summer here.

I find going into shops a bit of a drag, I never want to buy anything....that is to say, I don't want what they have on offer.
Also, I talk myself out of buying, even things I like. I spent ten minutes in a department store today while waiting for a friend, and saw a fabulous linen top in a lovely shade of coral, but I put it back telling myself "you don't even wear stuff you've got"
Actually, it was quite stylish and I'm hankering after it now...

I wish my wife would think like that. She's sees it, she buys it.

I suppose if I was to wish for anything it might be this. It is the McLaren P1 and I had one of my best 'work' experiences when McLaren asked us (me) to do some work for them on the development of this car. It can only be described as engineering as an art form. Then again, would I, could I drive it? I doubt it and wonder if I could even get into it, so maybe I will just move to a house opposite someone who owns one. But we can dream....

😄Ooh Yes. Any shoe shop or shoe department I go into, I just have to try on the stiletto styles... I can even stand up in them and admire them in the mirror... It's when I try and walk in them...I look like Lily Savage 😁

I was once after a book for ages - I mean years: it was what I looked for first whenever I went into a 2nd hand book shop. There used to be a chain of 2nd hand shops in mostly Notting Hill Gate that reduced the prices every week. They had three bookshops, and I got a load of books for 10p from there. Anyway, one day I went in there and they had this book, for £2.50: and my first thought was to leave it until it got cheaper. Then I thought I'd better get it, in case someone else did. So it is here somewhere now, and I've not read it since I bought it, 20 years ago. (I did read it at about the age of 15 though: I had it out of the library for months.) This was it: Edit: Hmm, £50 on Amazon
