I wonder if anyone can tell me what the music is that starts 1 min. 32 sec. in, starting after scene of the schoolgirls singing entering the museum and lasts until 3 min. 10 secs. It follows a Chopin nocturne, I don't recognise it and I think it may be by Barrington Pheloung. It is a piano, and I think cello, duet. I find it very appealing. If anyone can give any information I should be very grateful. The episode is called Nocturne. Thank you .

Thank you for trying anybody but that is the piece playing on the musical box. The piano and cello duet follows and I have tried very hard to find it,without success. It is not listed with the 2 Chopin pieces and I suppose was composed by Barrington Pheloung. But thank you anyway.

Sorry, I don't - I thought it was a Trio and tried Brahms and Schumann (who it sounded most like to me), and then Schubert. I tried Cello sonatas for them as well, but no. Maybe Beethoven... Definitely something though; I mean, not Pheloung. I'm sure I've heard it before.

Bless you for trying so hard to identify this little piece. It is interesting that you feel sure it is not by Pheloung. I wish I could ask him. I have looked at his website and facebook page but there isn't a simple way to do it.For me it has a charm and it touches me. As you say, it could be his arrangement of a piece by someone else. I don't suppose I will ever find out quite what it is. I just wish I could get a recording of it. Thank you again for your thoughtfulness

Aubrey, I posted and it has been lost so I hope this will seen. I wanted you to know you were right, it is a Schubert Trio, in E flat minor op.148. Someone on another board was able to find it on a site I had not heard of. So thank you for pointing me in the right direction and it is wonderful to find it after several days of searching.

That's one I tried! Damn - one of those Youtube videos with no track break indications. Probably getting a bit discouraged by them. Good, though. That programme looked pretty good; I've not seen any that I'm aware of (I've been confusing it all this time with Lewis, as well). Still that high-classed Morse stuff; entertaining enough and with a good atmosphere, which is pretty much all you want.

Absolutely! I loved Morse and both Lewis and Endeavour took couple of episodes for me to feel comfortable with them. Now they are all firm favourites. Thanks again for your efforts.

I did and it is a very interesting site but was not able to identify the piece I was looking for. Someone on another board found it at tunefind.com and sent me the link, which marispiper has given above, and I found it there at once.
