If, like me, you are a Freesat viewer, here is a wonderful site. It reviews all the films on your schedule for weeks ahead. Why be dumb and pay Murdoch? nextfilm.co.uk/index.php

Why be dumb and pay Murdoch? Guilty as charged, I'm afraid. I agree completely - in principle. But - you knew there was going to be a 'but', didn't you? - you can't get the cricket live anywhere else. For me, the cost of Sky is (almost) worth it for that alone and I do get some cheap Broadband (and 'Sky Go') thrown in to sweeten the deal too. It also gets me brownie points with Mrs TJ who's a great football fan. Even The Old Dragon my dearly beloved mother-in-law who's nearly 90 has the Sky Sports package. She, too, is a great football fan who used to spend Saturdays in her younger days on the terraces at Fratton Park and still loves watching all the matches available on Sky. If anyone knows another way of being able to watch, say, an Ashes Test series "live as it happens" from the comfort of my own armchair, please do let me know otherwise, our hard-earned pensions will continue to fill Murdoch's coffers! I'd be interested to know if all UK ISPs block this or is it just because I get my broadband from Sky. TJ

Ah, that's because your TV/internet viewing is being policed by Sky. They know everything about your internet/tv use. Big Brother is watching you!

Yes, probably but it could be that all UK-based ISPs block it. I hope one of the other UK-based forum members with a different internet service provider will be able to answer that. TJ

As you must be linked through a telephone, Sky has access to your every movement. My son in London (no Sky) watches that channel regularly. When I lived in the UK I had Sky but refused to be telephone connected for that very reason. BTW They charge you an extra 25 quid ,if you want a phone-free connection! Guess why?

I asked a friend who's on BT Internet to check the site for me and he gets "Error - site blocked" so it's not just the Evil Empire that blocks access from the UK (unless, of course, they've now got their tentacles into BT). It will be interesting to see what jimshoo gets when he checks it out.
Just out of interest, do you happen to know who your son's ISP is?
