Did anyone see Mel Brooks receive his award last night. He will be 90 in June this year and still as witty as ever. A real nice man.

He gets the gig every year doesn't he? I spose the Americans love him. He becomes more insufferable with every passing year...the BAFTAs bring out the worst in him too!

Yes, you're right. The same can be said about James Corden, I don't find him funny but the Americans seem to have gone head over heels for him. I could never understand why they took to Ricky Gervais either, I have never thought him funny. I hate it when he comes on tv and starts laughing at himself. Maybe he thinks he's funny, I don't.

Isn't it odd the way they take to certain celebrities? Who then milk it for all it's worth - they must laugh all the way to the bank! I mean, James Corden, for heaven's sake, in a car, singing loudly with Michelle Obama? Conversely, there are those who like it here, like Rich Hall (love him). He was on Pointless and explained "I prefer British audiences (deadpan) not this one...but I like British audiences" 😁

Yes I agree, Rich Hall is very witty, I believe Mo the tavern owner in The Simpson was based on Rich Hall.

Stephen Fry's great.
You know that every bad thing that's been said about him has already been said, and by him, don't you? He knows exactly what he is.
