If I were on a table of eight with a few bottles of wine and a fish and chip supper, I might be able to answer two or three of those and leave the rest to my team mates 😄

We went to the oddest quiz last night... Examples of rounds were 'Phobias' and 'Collectors and Enthusiasts' - no, I didn't know what a collector of spoons is called, nor what Arrhenophobia is.
However, this was a round where we did OK...(it'll be dead easy for you lot)
Name the film, and the actor who played the following:
1. Rick Blaine
2. Raymond Badditt
3. Josh Baskin
4. Sally Bowles
5. Rhett Butler
6. Johnny Castle
7. Bill Connors
8. George Bailey
9. Daphne/Jerry
10.Alex Forrest

Offhand, I only know two:
4 - Liza Minnelli - Cabaret (or Julie Harris - I Am a Camera - I had to look that one up, though I knew it existed) 5 - Clarke Gable - Gone With the Wind

Rick Blaine - Humphrey Bogart - Casablanca Raymond Baddit - Dustin Hoffman - Rain Man George Bailey - James Stewart - It's a wonderful life Josh Baskin - Tom Hanks - Big Sally Bowles you got... Rhett Butler you got... Johnny Castle - Patrick Swayze - Dirty Dancing Bill Connors - Bill Murray - Groundhog Day Daphne/Jerry - Tony Curtis - Some like it hot Alex Forrest - Glenn Close - Fatal Attraction.. You might be proud of the fact you didn't know some of those!

Yes, I probably am: but not the Casablanca and Some Like it Hot though - I should have known those. I rarely remember or even pick up characters' names though: I usually just think "Him, the main one; her, the girl main one, him with the moustache, her with the -, er, her with the hair", etc. I'm pretty bad at recognising faces as well. It's a wonder I can follow any film sometimes.
How about Holly Martins? (And I had to check I'd got that right as well.)

I used to know someone who knew the original Sally Bowles - Jean Ross, her name was. He had known her through the Communist Party in I suppose the 40s. She did not like the Sally Bowles character, who (according to Wiki) was a lot more like Isherwood's gay male friends than her. She was not a great singer.
