...in the The Great British Bake Off ! It is the Bake Off semi-final, and it is Patisserie Week, with just four bakers remaining. In the signature challenge, the bakers are once again butter-bashing and folding their pastry to achieve perfect lamination for a difficult French pastry. In the technical challenge, Paul has set the bar high. He is testing the bakers' patisserie prowess with a yeast-based cake that has a fruity top and delicate chocolate work. The show-stopper is the bakers' last chance to prove they have what it takes to make it to the final, with a multiple mini-cake bake. The timings are crucial to achieve the high-end finish the judges are looking for. Which of the bakers will impress Mary and Paul enough to earn their place in next week's final, and who will be leaving the tent?www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0808lzrI'm not keen on Candice and her pouts but I read somewhere that she is favourite to win. I would love to see Selasi come up with the goods tonight and march onwards

I've warmed to Candice, although her pouts are annoying. Selasi was too slapdash all the way through and at time scraped his way in. I liked him though.
I'm rooting for Andrew, he seems a genuine guy. I love his smile too.

Maybe it's the posh NI accent that is making me think that. He's been darn lucky to get this far but did fine last night. Poor Selasi his recipes always sound good to me, I think it is the finish that let's him down. Or as one said last night, adapting to the different ovens is tricky. I think even in repose Candice's mouth is that kind of shape and she seems to be very talented, not always sure of the flavour combos. What did strike me was that we are now at the final and this time around I have not been astounded by anything anyone has done, I have not had a WOW moment............holding out for next week!

This lot don't seem to be as good as last year's (this from just having seen last night's programme).
