For us oldies I can recommend a recent movie called Golden Years (2016. It obviously bombed as it is already available on dvd at Tesco for £5 but is well worth a look
It's basically a tale of olds coping with some of the problems we all have to put up with, and has a lot of the British great and the good actors - thankfully no Maggie Smith though

Don't know about that version, but Bowie's has been running through my mind all day!
Why do you think this film bombed then Gus? It's got some brilliant actors!
I recall a great documentary where four aging infirm stars (Sylvia Sim and others) set up house for a month and had to do everything for themselves...no care, no assistance.
It was very enlightening...the most important benefit was socialising. Vital for health!

Why do some succeed and others don't The Marigold Hotel and sequel nearly bombed, perhaps movie goers don't like to look at their possible future The Wizard of Oz bombed when that first came out yet has become a cult movie

Peeping Tom bombed, and was the centre of much outraged condemnation on its release, pretty much ending the career (in the UK at any rate) or its director and star; but now it is seen as a classic, and at least one reviewer apologised for her review, saying she was completely wrong about it.
