Doping by Russians with state sponsored cover up! There are no lengths to which they will not go...and SO sophisticated too. They MUST win.... The word 'sport' has no relevance

The word 'sport' has no relevance It is sadly reaching that stage. You see a dazzling performance and the first thing that goes through your head is 'I wonder what he/she is on'. I used to compete in my youth. As far as I know no-one was on anything, other than those with wealth being able to afford better diets and better shoes. Apart from cycling where drugs were endemic decades ago resulting in some cyclist actually dying in the saddle.

Russia never changes all that much, does it? Communism, and pre-, and post-: the same attitudes all along.

I seriously wonder what these Olympic games will be like. Brazil is a poor country with lots of crime. The mosquitos are spreading that awful virus. Russia won't be there and to top of all the other fears, security is very poor indeed.

Agree with you Althea...so many clouds over these Rio games...not least of all the mosquitoes! In fact, corruption sours all the big tournaments now. Who's looking forward to the World Cup in Russia..or Qatar? Suspect before it's even taken place!

Not so much "I wonder what he/she is on" but it just makes me wonder if they are on anything that enhances their performance.

Surely there is nothing to concern us. The Russians are only telling the rest of the World that their athletes are second rate and need performance enhancing drugs to 'level the playing field'. Poor Russians!
