The £350 million on the side of the bus was little more than "advertisers' puff". I said so at the time, and stand by it. But it was assumed by many to be a promise, and the Brexiteers did nothing to disabuse the notion. Well, if you believe politicians, their manifestos and their hyperbole, then you are a lot younger than I, and have many more years ahead of you to realise that the truth is seldom "out there". Cynical? Moi? yup - but I didn't believe half of what either side said at the time. My decision was based on research and experience. I was one of the oldies who remembers the referendum under Wilson. I remember the promises that were made then. They informed my decision in the light of what happened thereafter.
