I think this is a good forum...friendly, fun and a corner to go and moan in! It just puzzles me why so few people visit and the regulars (thanks good people x) you can count on one hand. I found this forum through the old BBC message board but I wonder how others discovered it and how we could attract more members. I must say, I do feel somewhat embarrassed to see my name on here such a lot - I don't want to take over, just want to keep discussions going.

I was saddened to see tingametro leave...unless there are people who disagree, that's the end of the discussion, isn't it?
I'm all for fun and friendly chat, but in 'strong opinion' areas, I think some variance of view is vital... and disagreement doesn't constitute abuse ....well not in my book.
I think it's the only way to generate response ...invite opinions.

Disagreement is fine and to be welcomed in a civilised democracy Personal attacks on people are not welcome, nor are sarcastic personal comments

I have posted elsewhere - but I have to confess to feeling a little intimidated to express an opinion on other discussions! I like a good strong debate, but sometimes it does feel a little "exclusive" here. I keep on reading, and will try to contribute more. Perhaps others need to be cut a little more slack in their opinions? Just a thought . . . . . .

I like this board because it's smaller than some others where you get lost or not heard in. However because it's small, disagreements (which are healthy and needed) can feel like they get a bit personal at times. On larger boards where there are many more folk, politeness can go out the window, it's not like that here which is why I like it.
I have to be really riled to take part in heavy discussions because of the time the whole thing can take up, especially in my head space. That's not to say I don't read or enjoy the heavy threads, but I do so from afar.
