MPs to vote on stripping Sir Philip Green's knighthood.
MPs are set to vote on whether Sir Philip Green should be stripped of his knighthood, BBC Newsnight has learned.
The collapse of retailer BHS will be discussed in a week's time, following a highly critical report by the Business and Pension Committees.
An amendment has now been added to that debate, calling for Sir Philip's honour to be cancelled.
It is believed to be the first time that MPs have ever debated a motion on whether to annul an honour.www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-37647721 I think questions need to be asked as to how such an odious man was ever given a knighthood in the first place

Money to the Tory party (probably).
Remember as well that he was a special advisor (or something) in Cameron's Govt, brought in to tell all the various Govt Depts how to save money - he went when it was realised that his main technique was putting everything in his wife's name and getting her to live in Monaco.

Sir Philip Green has said he is "sad and very sorry" for the hardship caused by the BHS collapse and that he still wants to sort out the pension deficit. The billionaire told ITV News that he "did everything possible" to keep the business from going under. BHS, sold by his Arcadia Group for £1 last year, collapsed with the loss of 11,000 jobs and a big pension deficit. Earlier on Tuesday, lawyers for Sir Philip hit back at MPs over a report into the BHS failure. The MPs were accused of making "very serious factual and legal errors" in their report. Sir Philip's ITV interview comes as parliament prepares to debate stripping him of his knighthood.www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-37691980

He fooled nobody Of course he has a very expensive new yacht in the Med, and he was filmed in his expensive looking London offices. Clearly there is money there, pity none of his former employees are denied any
