Appearing before the Select Committee this morning.
Seems a wrong 'un to me but I could be absolutely wrong and he might be a thoroughly decent chap.

I just don't know. 'They' say that anyone who has that much wealth probably did a few things which were not quite kosher somewhere along the road.
However from what I have read this was effectively a property deal which went wrong. Time will tell.

Possibly because FF would be guaranteed to be quietly insistent! It's all gone ahead though and Green complained today about people looking at him!

Philip Green is a clever man.He is ruthless and selfish. That is exactly what you need to be to make millions of pounds. I think he is dodgy in the extreme. I also think he objected to Frank Field because he wanted to see if he could throw his weight about with the committee. He asked one member of the panel not to look at him "that way".He was trying to undermine the confidence of the panel members. I don't buy his sudden,"It can all be sorted and I will sort it."BHS workers will be lucky indeed to get their pensions from this man.

He can now go back to his tax avoiding home (Monte Carlo or Monaco?) and count his ill gotten gains thinking he will hang on to his knighthood. Hope not, should never have got it in the first place

Hope not, should never have got it in the first place It gets better...he said that the millions of BHS dividends are his wife's in Monaco account (where else) and it's her private business and he knows nothing about it!!! Yeah right! In that case I would expect the committee to say "Get her in here..." - would be interesting to see whether she knows diddly squat about business...

The huge house in Monaco belongs to Mrs Green and so does everything else. There's no flies on Philip Green, though you can see where they've been.

Yeah right! In that case I would expect the committee to say "Get her in here..." - would be interesting to see whether she knows diddly squat about business... We might yet see Lady Green answering questions... In a statement after Green's hearing, Iain Wright MP, chair of the Business, Innovation and Skills Committee, and Frank Field MP, chair of the Work and Pensions Committee, said they want "much more detail" on BHS' company structure - in particular, the companies owned by Green's wife, Lady Christina Green. They may also wish to know more about the dividend payments made to Lady Green.
David Buik, market commentator at Panmure Gordon, said: "I think ‘Her Ladyship’ is going to be summoned on this issue by these select committees."

I don't quite know how they are going to summon Lady Green. She lives in Monaco and as far as I know is resident there..

It's all gone very quiet, the BHS workers can just take their redundancy whist the Greens continue with their lifestyle

"The knighthood awarded to former BHS boss Sir Philip Green is being kept "under review", the Cabinet Office has said. It comes after the collapse of BHS this year and criticism of his decision to take money out the firm before selling it for £1 to a former bankrupt. A Cabinet Office official confirmed his case was under consideration in a letter to Labour MP Jim McMahon." www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-36873523Good

Who else would you ,DIS-honour? I would DIS-honour all those who appear to have been given honours who have been given awards just for doing what they were paid to do Honours should only be given out to those who volunteer and give their time and energy improving the lives of others
