Is it for peeling something? Might have to be round though so not spuds...apples? Why would you want to peel apples in quantity? Mind you, they might in France with all those tarts! It is for peeling apples. I have a more modern version which once properly adjusted is great. And with a fair few apples from my miniscule orchard it is great.

Here is my apple peeler. We only have one apple tree now,but it's still very handy.

Here is my apple peeler. We only have one apple tree now,but it's still very handy. Almost identical to the one I have Althea. The grandchildren love it as if you set it up right it slices the apples into a spiral and takes the core out as well.
