I have belonged to art forums in the past and we used to regularly debate,"What is,or isn't,art." Many believe that digital art is not "real" art. I think it is, because you need a lot of skill to create images using Photo Shop or Paint Shop Pro. Yes the software does a lot of work for you,but if you don't have a concept in the first place, all the software in the land won't produce a picture. I enjoy creating all forms of art.I don't particularly care if people call it art or schmart. What that artist created in Hull,IS art. I intensely dislike the élitist few who frown on all but "fine art". New technology in cameras means that more people than ever are taking photos. Photography is an art form, but simply having the best equipment will never make you a photographer. It is something in the eye of the photographer, painter, graphic designer or digital artist that makes them an artist.
"Now, what do you get if you screw up 30,000 sheets of paper - pile them into a mountainous heap, and put them on display in one of our most historic buildings.
A new art installation at Truro Cathedral is splitting opinion in the city with some thinking the grand building has become a dumping ground, while others are moved by Imran Qureshi's 'After which I am no more I, and you are no more you' display."
