I think that is a fair reflection and I am pretty sure a lot of people buy 'organic' for the feel good factor. But there are many who simply cant afford it.
Meat is a bit different and you can certainly taste the difference between a chicken that has scratched around in a field for a few months as opposed to one that has been intensively reared from egg to plate in under 40 days. And of course there is a big difference in the price.

Organic food was the thing when I was a child, raw sewerage from humans and animals was simply scattered on the land Don't think I want to return to that
