I've heard that local farmers have lost their potato fields to floods, they are everywhere.

Thanks Althea, this one they've put in for me is just slightly different, my guess is they bring out new models all the time. The buttons are in a different place and the blue talk button is in the centre. I'll try just using the on off and see if it works. It takes a minute or two for ir to come on, with the old Sky+ box it came on instantly, do you find that? It actually comes on instantly for us.Where is your red record button,Ron? Ours is in the centre where your blue talk button is. I wonder why they keep changing things that don't need changing.

We had a thunder and lightning storm yesterday teatime. The sky was black. Last night we had a phone call to tell us our water would be off for a few hours due to burst pipes. It is back on this morning,so it wasn't a problem.Today is dry and bright but very cold.

Yes the red record button is in the middle below the blue talk button. So far, I'm turning it on with the on/off button top left, but to get a picture I'm having to press the Sky button. Takes a minute or two before it comes on properly. I know there's a quicker way but haven't found it yet.

Yep, I did Google them, trouble was that all the instructions (including the ones on you tube) were older models. The new one is different, today I've been on the Sky forum and someone has given me a tip I'm going to try out.

Once the power is on to the TV,you can use the hoe button,it is quicker than using the stand by button. Then you can use the back button to get your programme full screen. Then you can change your channel if you need to. It sounds a faff, but it isn't really ,it's very quick.
