24c here at 8am and still very humid. I only had one sheet on me over night and that was stuck to me.

Good Morning from the Midlands. The sun is trying to struggle through so keeping my arthritic fingers crossed that it will be a decent day. Just going to have a cup of coffee and a cracker biscuit but will be back in a bit with a fascinating tale of a parlour coach that belonged to my f-i-l way back in the 1920s. I am not usually into this sort of thing but oddly enough its me that has found out so much about this old 1920s unique parlour coach or pleasure bus, NOT my hubby or any of the family on his side, who should have followed it through. Have a good day everyone.

Is that to dilate them?
I once had that and then had to walk home towards the west on a sunny afternoon. It was ok once I'd crossed Palace road, just outside the hospital. Not a great deal of fun though.

It is indeed First time I had it done I ignored the warning "do not drive" message in the appointment letter. Left the clinic and walked into blazing sunshine and could not see a thing. I have no idea how I managed to drive home !!!!! Always now get chauffeur driven

I had an endoscopy once - well, I've had a few, but this time it was a couple of miles away from home they told me to get a taxi and not a bus. Our lass came and we said, sod that, and got the bus. It was fine. I'm not sure I would have liked to do it on my own though.
The first time I had one the Dr said afterwards not to drink in the evening. I said Why not? and he said, You'll carry on feeling like you do now. Doctors really have no idea sometimes; it was a great feeling, kind of woozy and euphoric.

I had one once. GP retired and new one refused to renew Ritidine prescription for reflux but sent me for the endoscopy to find out the cause I hate anything at the back of my throat and begged the technician to put me to sleep. Reply " You would have to stay overnight and we don't have a bed, you wont feel a thing and it's a nice banana flavour So, reluctantly I agreed, it was hell - this tube being forced down my throat and seemed to go on for ever. Half expected it to pop u the other end!

Mine were mainly at the other end, but I've had a couple down my throat as well - one at the same time as the other (I said to make sure they did the throat first). I dozed off each time, even though I tried to stay awake to watch. The only time I didn't doze off during something like that was when they were trying to unblock my (dialysis) fistula - loads of sedative, but I was able to watch everything on x-ray screens above the trolley.
That was probably the worst: but an endoscopy up my nose was not much better - the bloke put all his weight into it before it would go up there. Not sure that he found anything worth while either.

Change of subject:
A few years ago we went to a small Greek island in Southern Greece, Kalymnos. We came across a small Taverna and the owner made a broth that was very popular with the locals every day. I noted from him what he put in and have made it many times since.
’Greek Style Bean Soup for 4 people. ******************************** 3 potatoes 95p 1 turnip 85p 1 onion 70p 1 celery 95p 2 tomatoes 80p 1 can baked beans(400gram) 50p pinch of salt 10p
Dice potatoes, turnip, onion and celery into small pieces, simmer in slightly salted water(2 pints) for 35 minutes. Immerse tomatoes in boiling water for one minute, then peel. Slice into cube shapes and drop into the pan of vegetables. Simmer for a further ten minutes,No need to drain the water, then just add the can of baked beans. Ready to serve.
That was lovely for a vegetarian but you can add any meat to it if required.

Sounds delicious Ron, and very healthy I saw a chef on TV recently skin tomatoes by putting them in boiling water, amazing how easily the skin falls off
