"A fraudster who pretended that his family died in the Grenfell Tower fire to get money from a victims fund has been jailed. Appearing at Southwark Crown Court, Anh Nhu Nguyen was sentenced to 21 months in prison for defrauding more than £10,000 from charities and the local council. I think ID cards would help. People who think their identities are hidden or private, are living in the wrong century.

I think ID cards would help. People who think their identities are hidden or private, are living in the wrong century. The objections always make me smile. People happily have their supermarket reward cards, bus passes, credit/debit cards, library, internet cards which all contain so much info about them yet suggest an ID card and it becomes an infringement of civil liberties I suspect that the objectors have something to hide

I don't have any objection to ID cards, carrying one here isn't a problem. The problem I do have was what was actually going to be on the British ID card that was intrusive and unnecessary.
I have nothing to hide but value my privacy as far as I can.
