I've listened a couple or more times. Some great oldies but it's not all my taste

Well, I doubt there's anything in this world that can be all things to all men but, please, do tell us more. What (or who) did you like and what (or who) was not to your taste?
I think we should be told...! ;D

Thank you for the welcome.
Angel Radio has been something of a voyage of discovery for me, especially the music of the 20s to the 40s. Although born at the end of the 40s, the music of the 50s rather passed me by and listening to Angel has confirmed that I didn't miss much!
Well, that's my opinion - perhaps some of you feel differently about that decade?

I think Angel has something for everyone. Even younger listeners for jazz......

The 50s saw the great decline in popular music - suddenly it was slanted at adolescents rather than, as before, young adults. That there are still quality artistes and writers is a constant source of amazement to me - where do they get to develop their work? Parts of the USA and mainland Europe at a guess. Here? Forget it...

I must say there is variety on Angel - Slim and Slam, Gigli, Jelly Roll Morton, Hank Williams...

... a complete musical every Saturday lunchtime, the (almost) complete Gilbert and Sullivan operettas, the story of the (waltzing) Strauss family, 3 classical lunchtime programmes a week, daily quiz programmes with a Freephone number (or email) to enter, at least one request programme every day (except Saturday) on which your request, via the same free phone number, will usually be played within 10 minutes - oh, the list of goodies is endless. But, of course, I'm biased so try it yourself and see! TJ

OK TJ....time to own up. Are you an Angel DJ? We need to know! ;D You might think that... but I couldn't possibly comment! Oh, what the heck - yes I can. Guilty as charged. Rather immodestly many of the programmes I mentioned above are ones I do or have done. At the moment I'm just coming to the end of a three-month stint as the Breakfast Bustle presenter on a Wednesday morning (8am - 9am) and I also present the pre-recorded 'Angel at the Musicals' on a Saturday lunchtime and the classical concert on Tuesdays. Ooh, are you famous? Ooh, no but someone did once ask me for my autograph after a lunchtime talk I'd given on behalf of the Tangmere Military Aviation Museum. I, of course, assumed she was joking and it was only when I saw the crestfallen look on her face at my dismissive reply that I realised she was serious and I had just ruined my big moment! But that, I'm afraid, is the closest I've ever come to the trappings of fame. TJ
