Firstly, I still do not see how society has benefitted from knowing the identity of the Bulger boys killers, certainly not from the example you give. A good story for the front page of the Express/Mail I suppose...
Secondly, regarding the two murderers... I was simply pointing out the reasons WHY such a child might do these dreadful things. It is a most disturbing thing to be with a child subjected to violence all its life. They do and say things to make you quake. Thinking of one in particular, it would never surprise me to see that individual's name connected with a heinous crime. But when you know what they've been subjected to, it adds up.
Society needs to be protected from these two, no question, for what they may be capable of. I believe those involved in the Bulger case are always monitored.
By the way,doesn't sound as if the new identity of Ian Huntley's girlfriend has been effective at all!

Where I live you cannot fart without being noticed, a high profile stranger moving in stands out But she still has protection
